We're lucky to have experienced and enthusiastic coaches in the club who can help you get the most out of your triathlon training. They can all provide you with general advice and tips and one or more will usually be present at the organised training sessions.

Ian Walker has drawn on his 19 years of coaching experience, put together a really helpful basic training plan and made it available to all Sun City members. In the plan, he explains the thinking behind it and shows you how you could fit in a structured week of training around the main club sessions. It might look deceptively simple, but stick with it, train consistently and you will see results! Being consistent is often the hardest bit for working athletes with families, though, and that means most of us... If you wanted a more detailed plan, specific to your weekly commitments, Ian offers one to one coaching, for a fee.
Some of the coaches, particularly Amanda and Ian, can offer one to one coaching for a fee (from around £20 per month). This can include producing weekly training schedules, diet recommendations etc. and you can find out more by contacting the coaches directly. Unfortunately, this service is popular and the coaches may not always be able to take on extra athletes. Coaches have to find time to train too! Click here to email Ian, Click here to email Mandy
Get the most out of your heart rate monitor and base your training zones on a properly measured maximum heart rate, or alternatively, track your fitness gains through a series of RAMP tests over the year. The tests are usually done on the club's "Tacx flow" turbo trainer with your own bike and HRM. Contact Ian directly to arrange a date.
