Time Trialling

Time Trialling is one of the most effective ways to prepare for races.  For the un-initiated Time Trialing (TT) is where you go off on a pre arranged course, usually 10mls, and race against the clock.  It's hard, but builds fitness (and character).  TT is essentially what you would be doing in the bike leg of a Triathlon, so TT is replicating the rigours of race day, ideal race preperation. We are affiliated to the TT Association, which means that we can enter club TT run by other clubs.

The most popular TT circuit locally is around Follingsby lane and the Washington highway- it's flat to gently rolling, reasonably fast and mostly left hand turns. For a map click here (link is to a google maps page).

For the 1st Sun City Tri TT we had 4 members competing.  the weather was good, though there was still the traditional strong headwind coming down Follingsby Lane, making the run into the finish line quite tough.  Results as follows.

 Ian Walker  33.35
 Bryn Hanson  34.33
 Nick Hughs  36.59
 Paul Bennett  Got Lost!!

Everone enjoyed the first outing and have set the standard for the rest of the season.  The times are there to beat, all you have to do is turn up.
